CoffeeCast #10 Featuring Tim Noonan @TimNoonan and Robin Dickinson @Robin_Dickinson "The Human Voice is the Most Influential Sound on the Planet!"

(download)

Welcome to CoffeeCast #10 - a CoffeeCast which started out as an interview
with Robin Dickinson about sharing joy through smiles, but which quickly
evolved into an extended conversation with me Tim Noonan doing most of the
talking, about my fascination and passion about voice, vocal authenticity,
openness and trust. Robin graciously demonstrated his talent for encouraging
and inviting me to share my love and fascination of all things voice, and
our conversation travels far and wide touching upon numerous aspects of
speaking and vocal communication.

Running Time: 17 min 18 sec

this CoffeeCast was recorded at North Side Coffee Mornings #NSCM on 28
January 2010.

Themes touched upon in this CoffeeCast include:

* Generosity when speaking, and sharing one's joy through smiles;
* The huge role that vocal tone of voice unconsciously plays in our lives
when assessing a person's attitude toward us and to their message;
* The role of sound and vocal language in the womb and during infancy;
* An exploration into the human voice's largely overlooked capacity to
powerfully influence us;
* Gregorian Chant and Toning (the sounding of extended vowel sounds) to
adjust one's mental and physical state, and for promoting empathy, health
and life balance;
* We finished with a vocal end of day Ritual for reconnecting with your
partner and loved-ones for restoring harmony and open communication.

some of the things that excite and captivate me.

Audio quality is quite good for most of this CoffeeCast, but there is some
wind noise in parts. Headphones will really enhance the listening ambiance
for this one, with a spacious open-air ambiance, replete with a great 3d
soundscape of @KarenMorris 's two boys riding their scooters behind and around the 'listener'.

CoffeeCast #7 Featuring Katie Chatfield @KatieChatfield "Notions of Time"

(download)

I'm delighted to bring you CoffeeCast #7 featuring the eloquent, incisive
and charming Katie Chatfield, speaking about notions of time and Also
including a small appearance by a long-time #CoffeeMornings participant
Gregg Girling @Ggirling recorded on Friday 13 November 2009.

Running time: 14 min 41 sec.

In this - our most in-depth CoffeeCast so far - we speak with
@KatieChatfield, another #CoffeeMornings originator, and the person who
first invited me to come along to #CoffeeMornings.

Themes covered in this conversation include explorations of various notions
of time and 'nowness' including Time as a material, How to bring a consumer
from the present to the future, strengthening Calls to action, sensations of
time being culturally based, leading us to Katie's reflections on the impact
our perceptions of time have on relationships, love and romance. Just as it seemed we were done, we then move on to an extremely insightful
exploration by Katie of the business notion of time as a resource. The
benefits (perhaps the necessity) of moving away from the simple notion of
billable hours and moving towards contractors assessing and valuing their
output with a solid understanding of their process and negotiating based on
a consideration of the actual value of their services to the client. A
valuable listen for anyone who contracts to clients or is considering doing
so.

And all this, before Katie's first coffee-of-the-day had arrived :(

As you will hear, Katie is a consummate speaker and interviewee, so I took
the decision to largely let her speak for herself, discarding most of my
input and chatter, so we could bring this CoffeeCast in under our soft upper
time limit of 15 minutes.

I do hope you gain as much enjoyment and consciousness raising from
listening to this extraordinary exemplar of Coffee Morning conversations,
as I gained by taking part in it.

The CoffeeCast #6 Featuring Tony Hollingsworth @Hollingsworth "Coffee Mornings and Country Towns"

(download)

CoffeeCast #6 is now up. It features #CoffeeMornings and #NSCM regular Tony Hollingsworth @Hollingsworth

It was great to get to chat with one of the founders of the North Side Coffee Mornings #NSCM and a self-proclaimed CoffeeCast fan.

Running time: 3 min 51 sec.

Themes covered in this conversation include #NSCM, an up-coming Social Media Strategies for Business event being put together by the Insight Exchange, Coffee Mornings magic, trust-building and relationships, and business arising as a by-product of the Coffee Mornings spirit.

The weather during our conversation was quite windy, so some of our discussion wasn't acceptably captured. Nevertheless, I think most of the
best stuff came through regardless.

Stay tuned for @KatieChatfield exploring many and varied Notions of Time in our next #CoffeeCast conversation.

We'd love to know what you think, and what you'd like to hear in future
#CoffeeCast Podcasts.

The CoffeeCast #5 Featuring Allen Harroothunian @Propaganda64 "From Computers to Coffee Machines"

(download)

CoffeeCast #5 is up. It features #CoffeeMornings regular Allen Harroothunian
@Propaganda64

Well I think it is very appropriate that we finally devote a CoffeeCast
conversation to the very important topic of Coffee - that is, the making of.

Running time: 3 min 5 sec.

Themes covered in this conversation include being of service to meet the
immediate needs of others, the potential for computer-intensive work to
isolate or disconnect us, and of course, Coffee itself.

Rather conveniently, Some of Allen's Coffee Machine recordings also feature
in this CoffeeCast conversation.

We'd love to know what you think, and what you'd like to hear in future
#CoffeeCast Podcasts.

The CoffeeCast #4 Would You Attend a Nude Tweet-up?

(download)

I'm so excited to be able to put up #Coffee Cast #4!

It is definitely our most ambitious so far, but was also the most fun and
exciting to be sure. I really think you'll get at least a couple of
interesting insights and a few great chuckles along the way.

Running Time: 14mn 22sec

I am so incredibly grateful to all the wonderful people who so generously
allowed me to speak with them for this #CoffeeCast. Nudity can be a touchy
subject, and some of the people I spoke with generally prefer not to be much
in the lime light, but agreed, nevertheless when I asked. I think it is very
important that the quieter as well as the more naturally vocal
#CoffeeMornings attendees are represented in the #CoffeeCast Podcasts.

I've done my very best (with the limited time I had available) to highlight
each person's individuality, thoughtful consideration of the topic and of
course your warmth and sense of fun. Thank you.

This #CoffeeCast starts at #CoffeeMornings at Single Origin, where we
chatted with (in order of appearance)

@JustBecos @PureByDesign @TimLonghurst @KristinRohan @Beaney @TomKelshaw
@MiteshOn and @ACatInATree

And we thought we were done and completed by 10:30am ...

But No, when we popped in to #SHTBOX on Friday evening for a relaxed drink,
we ran smack into the person who sent the original tweet which inspired this
#CoffeeCast, @Warlach himself, and couldn't waste the opportunity to
interview him on the spot for completeness.

Finally, the night was topped off with a very entertaining appearance by the
wonderful @Swankins, speaking with a by then rather tipsy and not quite so
restrained @TimNoonan.

Thanks also to @Propaganda64 for his audio assistance this week.

We have also made quite good progress in this #CoffeeCast with our
overall audio quality and clarity of the featured voices, that is at least
the official #CoffeeMornings recordings. But then, we arrived at the Clock
Hotel. The incredible noise at the Clock Hotel takes any recording equipment
beyond its technical limits, but that said, This week's #CoffeeCast is well
worth hearing right through to the end, and if you wear headphones, you
should be able to hear nearly every word.

We'd love to know what you think, and what you'd like to hear in future
#CoffeeCast Podcasts.

The CoffeeCast #3 Featuring @Voirol and @PaulWallbank

(download)

I'm please to put up the Third CoffeeCast, which was also recorded at Single
Origin Café on 23 October 2009.

Running time: 3 min 20 sec.

This CoffeeCast features two folks from #CoffeeMornings - Tom Voirol and
Paul Wallbank. Both speak about their experiences with #CoffeeMornings and
Paul Wallbank also offers us his perspective on the North Side Coffee
Mornings #NSCM which are held each Thursday at 4th Village Mosman.

Once you've heard this third CoffeeCast, you should be quite well acquainted
with the #CoffeeMornings concept, which means we are now poised to venture
deeper into the real magic and unexpectedness that #CoffeeMornings have
become renowned for.

I'm sure that at least a few people, in addition to myself, have observed
that this first set of conversations all happen to have been with guys.
Sorry about that. My intention behind the CoffeeCast Podcast has always been
to reflect an eclectic sampling of the richness and diversity of all the
folks who make up the #CoffeeMornings communities, so you can expect the
unexpected from here-on-in.

If you have feedback on the podcast or would like to make a suggestion about
who we might want to speak with in a future #CoffeeCast conversation, you
can leave a comment on the blog, DM me on Twitter, or you can drop me an
email.

A reminder that in order to hear the featured voices more clearly, and to
experience a little more of the #CoffeeMornings ambiance, we recommend
Listening to the CoffeeCast Conversations in stereo and with headphones or
ear-buds.
